Values & Ethics Statement

St. Joseph with the infant Jesus in the QuadClongowes Wood College Foundation has a duty to exemplify the values and best qualities of Clongowes Wood College S.J. and the Society of Jesus, and thereby to observe the highest standards of personal integrity and professional conduct in its operation.

The Foundation embraces certain values as listed below:

  • To engage in fundraising with integrity, honesty, fairness, truthfulness and adherence to the absolute obligation to safeguard the mission of Clongowes Wood College Foundation.
  • To place philanthropic mission above personal gain.
  • To affirm, through personal giving, a commitment to Clongowes and its role in society.
  • To adhere to the spirit as well as the letter of all applicable laws and regulations.
  • To encourage colleagues to embrace and practice these ethical principles and standards of professional practice.

While striving to act according to the above values the Foundation will:

  • Engage only in activities that will not in any way damage or harm the institution or community of Clongowes Wood College S.J. and the Society of Jesus.

  • Not exploit any relationship with a donor, prospect, volunteer or employee for our own, or for Clongowes benefit.
  • Comply with all applicable civil and criminal law.
  • Recognise individual boundaries of competence.
  • Take care to ensure that all solicitation materials are accurate and correctly reflect the Foundation’s mission and intended use of solicited funds.
  • Not disclose privileged or confidential information to unauthorised parties.
  • Shall, when stating fundraising results, use accurate and consistent accounting methods that conform to appropriate guidelines.
