Parents Day and Parent Teachers DaysOnce a year, parents gather for an important Parents day for their year. The Jesuit Community along with the Parents Association chooses a theme for that year and arranges speakers to address the meetings. These start with a parents-only talk, followed by a Mass with the boys from that year, then lunch. After lunch, another parents-only discussion takes place. The day finishes about 4.30pm and late leave is automatic for the boys whose parents attend.
Parent Teacher meetings are also held annually. Early arrival will allow you to meet with more of your boy’s teachers. Prioritising the teachers you need to meet will improve efficiency.
Activities for parents There are many ways parents can become involved in Clongowes: joining the Board of Management or the Parents Association: volunteering to help out at the Careers day or mock interview night: helping with the excellent work of the Clongowes Wood College foundation. An annual overnight retreat is held for parents each year in June. |
