Headmaster's Message

Great schools, like all institutions of enduring worth, go through cycles in their history, reflecting the opportunities and circumstances of successive ages.  It is a privilege for me to be charged with leading Clongowes at a moment when we are grappling with the challenges now before us.  The environment in which the College must operate has changed dramatically over time.  The mission remains unchanged: to form our students in the fullness of their humanity and on the firm foundation of the Gospel, so that they may achieve true fulfilment and serve the world to the best of their ability.  This is why Jesuit schools exist and it is why Clongowes exists.

Clongowes Wood College Foundation as part of the Clongowes college body adopts the shared vision, values and approaches which underpin the mission of Clongowes as we move into a new millennium and a third century of service.

As Headmaster, I'm greatly encouraged by the generosity of so many to Clongowes Towards 200, our €45 million development campaign.  I would like to extend my thanks to those of you, who have to date, supported this historic and ambitious programme.  I am confident that, with the backing of the entire College community and under the able and generous leadership of Trustees and Board of Management, we will reach and surpass the goals we have set ourselves.
