Clongowes Wood College—a living and learning community of growth, service, and faith. The idea of community is pivotal to how we live, how we learn and how we wish young men to grow.
Based on our conviction that human fulfilment is to be found through faith in Jesus Christ and service of the world in imitation of Him, we seek to form pupils who will strive to give Christian leadership through the quality of their lives and their commitment to work for a more just, cohesive and caring society.
It is the spiritual vision of St Ignatius of Loyola, which continues to inspire and guide the community. At its simplest it regards every element of creation as worthy of study and contemplation; it promotes the formation of individuals within the human community; it insists on individual care and concern for each person.
This concept of community finds expression in Sunday Mass in particular and when Masses are held for year groups or special occasions. Pupils also have opportunities for other spiritual expression through attendance at night prayers, liturgies and retreats. |
